Authentic Bamileke stool. These hand-crafted stools are carving into a continuous piece of tree. The process is astounding. First, the craftsman thrown the trunk into the river to be softened up for carving. During the carving process, if there is a break in the wood the entire piece is abandoned as it is viewed as a break in the continuity of life. These are done entirely by hand from massive woods and come in a variety of patterns and sizes. The intricate woven patterns carved into the wood represent the web of the earth spider, a symbol of wisdom.
